Can you believe that 2010 has ended? It seems just like yesterday when we rang in 2010 and life seemed so much easier. So much has happened in the past year that has affected our life to much.
In March, Angelica got sick and I took her to the ER. She had pneumonia, but worse than that, her kidneys were shutting down. They said it was End Stage Renal Disease and she would need dialysis until she got a kidney transplant. So for the past 10 months, she goes three days a week for four hours of dialysis. She has continued working so I take her after she's done. Her kids, Alexis aged 16 and Eloy aged 15 both had birthdays this month too. My first nephew was born on March 6th. His name is Bryson Lee. He is absolutely adorable!
In May & June she had to have several surgeries on her perma-cath & fistula. Nothing seems to work well on her and we are still having troubles with them to this day.
August brought another surgery on the fistula. September we celebrated two years together & her 40th birthday. My cars engine also had to be replaced, but we got a good deal thanks to Maria, a lady that works with Angelica. October brought my 33rd birthday. November was Grandma's 90th birthday and we celebrated Thanksgiving with her family in Dumas.
December (mid-month) she started feeling bad again so we went to the ER. Her fistula wasn't working and she was having pain in her tummy, vomiting and horrible nausea. They couldn't find anything wrong and sent her home. A week later, I had to rush her back. She wound up having to stay for a week and a half. Christmas was spent in the hospital and unfortunately, we didn't have any money to buy the kids much. Rent was almost not paid, but thanks to her ex husband, we are here for another month. I could sit here and feel sorry for us, but instead, I lifted my heart to God and I know he will provide for us.
Today my sweet Grandmother called and said she had put some money in my bank account so we could pay our electric & cable bill. It gives us a little breathing room and I don't know how we will ever repay the people who have helped us.
We don't have a lot, but we are happy. That is truly all you an ask for in life.
